	<description>
When it comes to finding low carb desserts, there are options besides low carb bars.

Finding Low Carb Desserts
Your best resource for finding low carb desserts is the Internet. You'll find a wide variety of low carb desserts on many low carb web sites. But you might be wondering how a dessert can be a low carb food. It's true that some restaurants will advertise certain desserts as being low carb just because they have a lower carb version, but the lower carb version isn't necessarily what most people on a low carb diet would consider low carb. To know the true carb count, get some recipes for low carb desserts online and make them yourself.

Are They Really Low Carb? How is This Possible?
Most low carb desserts are not made with the common low carb diet offenders, like white flour and refined sugar. You'll see recipes using almond flour and artificial sweetener like Splenda. You can also find mixes for low carb desserts online. In fact, we stumbled on pages and pages of them at www.carbs.com. In the dessert section, we found a low carb dessert cookbook, low carb dessert mixes, low carb bars and more.

Find out for yourself if low carb recipes are good by trying out this recipe:

Low Carb Peanut Butter Pie

1 Tablespoon cocoa

8 packs of Equal (or sweetener of choice)

6 Tablespoons butter, divided

4 oz. cream cheese

4 oz. heavy cream

2 Tablespoons heavy cream

5 Tablespoons Simply Jiff peanut butter

6 Tablespoons spoonable Splenda (if you don't have this, it measures like sugar so use your favorite sweetener)

1 cup crushed pecans

16 Tablespoons Cool Whip

1 square of unsweetened chocolate

Crust:

1. Mix pecans and 4 Tablespoons of the melted butter.

2. Pour in pie plate, spread out to cover bottom of plate. Put in freezer.

Chocolate Layer:

1. Melt 2 Tablespoons butter and unsweetened chocolate in microwave on low setting for approximately 2 min.

2. Mix in 2 Tablespoons cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir well.

3. Add in 8 packs of Equal.

4. Pour over frozen pie crust and put back in refrigerator.

Peanut Butter Layer:

1. Mix peanut butter, 4 ounces cream cheese and 1/3 cup of Splenda together in a blender and spread over frozen pie.

Chocolate Whipped Topping:

2. Spread on top of pie. Refrigerate. Cut pie into 12 pieces. Each piece has 5.3 carb.
