	<description>

You know how important it is, when you are on one of the low carbs diets, to know for sure just how many carbs there are in every thing that you eat. But, how can we be sure that the packaged food is really, as it states, a low carbs food? The fact is that the FDA has not made a definite definition for what it means to be a low carbs food, so essentially, until they do define it, it is meaningless. You can look at the nutritional information label to find out for sure, but even that is dubious. Food manufacturers are allowed to round the number of carb sin their food down, so something that actually has .9 grams of carbs can be advertised as being a low carbs food.

So, how do we know
The best thing is to stay away from prepackaged and pre-prepared foods anyway. They are full of fillers and artificial sweeteners and neither of those are any good for the body either. Your low carb diet should not concentrate solely on the amount of carbs that you are taking in, it should have the most emphasis on overall health. You should not buy into the temptation to buy food that have already been prepared. Instead, seek to make your own low carbs food at home, that way you can be sure of the carb content and that it is good for you. In addition to limiting your carbs, you should also be making sure that you are getting the vitamins and the minerals that you need to feel good and obtain optimum health.

If you have a hard time deciding on the type of food that you should be eating while on your low carbs diet, then get to your local bookstore, or go online, and find some great cookbooks that you can have on hand at home. Start to familiarize yourself with the meals that appeal to you and take everything out of your kitchen that cannot be eaten. You do not need any temptation, being on a diet is hard enough without it. There are a lot of cookbooks out there that concentrate on low carbs food, anywhere from Thai to Mediterranean.
